Big Sur our final destination was approx 100 miles from Mountain View.
The drive on Highway 1 from Monterey to Big Sur via Carmel is breath taking. Its a narrow road along the sea shore with Mountains on the other side. I brought back some really good memories

My husband and I are coming to San Fran for a week and were planning a trip to Montery, is it worth an overnight stay or can one accomplish all one needs to in a day trip?
